Forage & Fire at Ballyvolane House

Join us for a unique, immersive food experience in the glorious surrounds of Ballyvolane House, as part of the Feast Cork Festival of Food 2025.

Begin your day with a guided walk and forage through the gardens, woodlands, and wild edges of the estate with owner Justin Green and foraging expert Andrew Malcolm, discovering the abundance of wild herbs, leaves, and late summer edibles that grow on the estate. Then gather for an outdoor long-table lunch in the walled-garden, where Eamo & Ró, Chef-Patrons of Eamo & Ró Café & Larder (and now leading all wedding and event catering at Ballyvolane House) will prepare a fire-cooked feast using seasonal estate-grown produce, foraged finds, and the best ingredients from local East Cork farmers, cheesemakers, and fishermen.

Expect open-fire cooking, smoky aromas, botanical cocktails, great company, and a deep connection to land, season, and heritage.

fEast Farm to Fork Dinner at Yellow Belly Farm

On Saturday, September 6th, guests will enjoy a unique farm-to-fork dining experience set in the beautiful surroundings of Yellow Belly Farm, Midleton.



The ticket includes a welcome prosecco reception, a guided farm walk to explore the organic growing areas, and a surprise vegetarian dinner created fresh from the farm's harvest on the day of the event. Guests will also receive 1-2 wine or beer drinks served with the meal.

The menu will showcase the best seasonal produce available that week, reflecting the true spirit of local and sustainable eating. Highlights of the produce expected include celery, onions (red, white, shallot), spring onions, baby spinach, potatoes, carrots, kale (curly and red Russian), parsnips, various tomatoes, courgettes, green beans, mixed salad leaves, microgreens, beets (golden and purple), apples, blackberries, and a range of fresh herbs such as parsley, coriander, basil, sage, rosemary, thyme, and oregano.

The menu will likely feature a variety of thoughtfully crafted vegetarian dishes such as chilled cucumber soup, beet hummus with goat cheese, roasted root vegetable tart, kale salad, spiced green beans, roast garden onions with golden marjoram, and warm steamed potatoes with mint butter. Desserts may include beetroot chocolate cake, parsnip maple syrup slice, carrot cake, courgette muffins, and a seasonal fruit-based cake or crumble.

Fresh organic vegetables will also be available for purchase on the night. The final menu will be confirmed closer to the event, depending on what is ready to harvest during that week, ensuring the freshest and most flavorful ingredients are on your plate.

Guests can expect an authentic farm-to-fork experience celebrating the best of Yellow Belly Farm’s organic bounty and Midleton’s renowned food culture.
